Recently I had several power failures within 24 hours.....after the first power failure, the red, green and yellow lights were all illuminated on the keypad.  After the second power failure, all the lights went out on the keypad and never came back on.  I replaced the battery, but still no lights on the keypad.   Any recommendations as to what I should do next?  I am not hooked up to a monitoring station.

Sounds like the transformer is out or bad.

Is there any way I can check to make sure it is the transformer, and if it
is, how can I go about replacing it?

Use a volt meter or an Ohm meter by checking the primary across the AC prongs and also the secondary across the terminals, try ebay if you can't find it, PM me and I will help you.

Used OHM meter on both the prongs and the wires going out of the transformer and  the needle on the meter goes from resting point to the extreme end of the meter which reads 0.  Does this mean the transformer is good?  If so, do you have any other suggestions as to what could be wrong?  Thank you.

Go into the control panel measure the AC voltage on the terminals, you should get around 16 volts, if that is good check the fusses then push the load switch all the way to the left and then let go, that is on the top left hand side of the control.

Thanks for your help.  Voltage reading is 16, fusses aren't blown, and load switch is all the way to the left.  Is there anything left to check, or do I need to call in an alarm tech at this point.

Sounds like the control panel went bad, you need to replace it.
