Vista 20 P - Away zones work but Stay function having issues

Hello and thanks in advance for your help...
I had a Vista 20P professionally installed about 5 years ago and recently cancelled monitoring and monitor through another company.
My setup is a TWO PARTITION system.
Partition 0 is HOME
Partition 1 is Detached Garage
Everything has been working fine over the years but perhaps I never realized there was an issue until I switched over monitoring and tested the system. The problem is that when I set the alarm for STAY the front door Zone 05 and the garage entry door Zone 06 both partition (0)do not do anything when opened. If I switch over to AWAY and open Zone 05 or Zone 06 they have a delay and start the countdown function prior to setting off the alarm. This proves that the contacts work correctly but have a programming issue. When I spoke with the company doing the monitoring for me they informed me that I need to purchase a different keypad in order to program the zone correctly.
I also read the same in your FAQs section prior to posting this in reference to using a 6160 keypad.
Is there a way to check what keypad I have?
Also in the panel there are resistors bridging across the contacts for the delay doors Zone 05, 06 and a few others.
Please post your thoughts...
Thanks,
Matt

I'd check first regarding the partitions, as you should not have a P 0. If you do, then there's bigger issues at hand. Assuming the garage partition has it's own keypad.
I'd arm and wait for the exit delay to expire, as if you try to immediately fault a zone. Remember, arming stay, there is still an exit delay even though the system does not beep.
To view programming, especially for a novice, you need an alpha (text) keypad. If your system only shows zones when faulted, then most likely, you need to purchase an alpha keypad.

Hey Del Installations,
Thanks for the reply. Yes I have two dedicated keypads for each location.
Partition 0 - Home
Partition 1 - Detached Garage/Shop
I think I understand what you are saying in regards to waiting for the exit alarm to expire. Perhaps it is working correctly then....
I will test and reply the results. I did not realize that in regards to the silent countdown but that makes sense as you would not want to hear it if you are in the home etc. I will arm and wait 1-2 minutes then open the door and see what happens.
Thanks,
Matt
Edit:
Yes...
It worked correctly. How funny the alarm tech on the phone did not mention this as we were troubleshooting.
Could I have the alarm be immediate or does it have to do the delay since it is always a delay on these doors to disable alarm etc. In the event someone is breaking in the front door I would rather have an actual alarm versus the countdown. Perhaps I would use the INSTANT feature and just bypass the motion detectors? I will have to read the manual again...
Thanks again for helping me with that...

Any arming method still has an exit delay. The only item affected is the entry delay.
I would investigate the panel's program, as you should have a P1 and P2, not a P0, unless something really strange was done.
