Hello, i have two PK5500's one on slot 1/2 and the other on 1/8. i placed them both in zones 02 and 08 respectively. i have no alarms and no trouble reports on the system. both keypads function fine except for one keypad's sensor reset and quick exit don't work. they both say "function unavailable". i went to the keypad and manually configured the buttons, but they were already set correctly! i am at a real loss. i pulled the power to the system and restored it, same issue. anyone heard of this before and have a solution? thank you!

I can't think of a logical explanation for this, but I'm puzzled by your statement "i placed them both in zones 02 and 08 respectively." Are you saying that you added a keypad zone to each keypad? Or by "zones" do you mean keypad assignment slots?  I doubt that this is part of the problem, but some clarification might help.

sorry for the confusion, actually i did both. i lined up the slots with the zones for easy maintenance and memory. so one keypad is in slot 2 as well as zone 2. I've factory defaulted the system and haven't done any additional programming except trying to get these 2 keypads to work, and nothing. one thing to note, i decided to swap their slot locations to see if that mattered, nothing. when i do that both don't work! when i put it back, one keypad works, the other doesn't. by not work i mean the function keys (or inputting sensor reset manually). thanks for trying!

In order to narrow down the possibilities, I would suggest the following: remove both keypads from the wall (leave the backing plates in place) and use a short length of wire to connect each directly to the control panel. First connect one, then remove it and connect the other, then connect both at the same time. Try all the functions under those conditions and see what happens.

P.S. Since you have keypad zones connected, you might want to twist together the zone wires when you remove the keypads.

Well i reset the EEPROM again on the keypad and all seems to be working. must have been something in there that was out of whack. thank you for the advise!
