I started a thread but I still at a loss for how to fix.  I have a zone that shows "check xx" and not "fault xx".  This zone covers 6 windows and a door in a loop.  I have narrowed it down to the door so I unhooked the zone from the Ademco and replaced it with the other pair in the jacket from just the door (thinking I may have a short in the original pair).  btw, I know it is not the roller ball connector because I replaced it with another one.  Now when I try out the zone I still get the "check xx" error and I get a chime when I open AND close the circuit.  This one puzzles me.  Also, since I hooked up just the door the resistor is not attached to the loop.

How do I diagnose?  What do I do to get this repaired so the "check xx" disappears from the panel?  I am a newbie to all of this.

Thanks!

Read the suggestions that were stated, then requoted a few times within your other thread.

Unless you go through the appropriate steps, you're not going to end up with a solution.

I'd like to be called sir at least once without being followed with "you're making a scene"
