Hi,
I have an A*T security system with Model A1110ST keypads.  The lights above the keypads are burned out and that makes it difficult to set the system in the dark.  Is there a way to replace those lights?  They look like long diodes that may be wired in.

A*T says they can't be replaced or fixed and I need a whole new system since they don't have other keypads to replace the A1110ST.  Is that for real?

Yep, unless you can find used somewhere.  These are old technology that are no longer supported by any service companies.  Sorry - that is just the way it goes in electronics unfortunately.

Thanks.  If I find an A1110ST, how difficult is it to take off the old one, plug in the new one and reprogram it.   Does it need somebody with special knowledge or can I just follow the programming instructions in the manual myself.  I'm an average guy with no experiience with these alarms other than turning them on and off.

No programming involved, just power the system down, remove and replace the keypad using the plug in terminals, and power back up.

Thanks again Repairguy.  Just one more thing.  How do I power the system down?

remove the battery lead from 1 terminal of the battery and unplug the wall transformer.  Reconnect in reverse order when ready to power back up.
