I've been searching around the forum and have found some good info, but not exactly what i'm looking for.   My apologies if this question has been asked and answered before.
I am wiring a room for an alarm.  The system is a Magnum 1000e.  The room is 16'x24'.  On the 16' side, I have an 8' Andersen Perma-shield (vinyl clad) sliding door.  On the 24' side, I have 3 Andersen double hung, tilt wash windows.  The windows are grouped together and measure 7-1/2' across.
I would like to wire them for protection against opening as well as breaking.  Also, I would like to have a second contact position on the windows so i can arm the system with the window open to this contact point.
I was thinking of butterfly window contacts with glassbreak sensors (i.e. Ademco 367WH + USP 724).  I think i would need 2 window contacts per pane and 2 glassbreaks per pane to do this, which seems like a lot of crap hanging on my windows.  I was also thinking of surface mount sensors with a central glassbreak sensor or motion sensor.  I don't know if the room would be too big for 1 glassbreak sensor.
The door would need a similar setup, though i don't need a partial open position, and only one pane on the door slides, so the other can be treated as a non opening window.
Does anyone here have experience with these types of windows or doors?   Any suggestions would be great.

Welcome to the forum...

Yep sounds like a lot of stuff hangin  Grin

I would definatly go with the wall/ceiling mounted glassbreak to cover all the glass (most can be set to cover all glass in line of site within 20-30ft). One should be fine...

Not sure what "butterfly contacts" are but surface ones are about the only ones you can use so as not to void your window warranties.

I like Honeywell's FG-1625 series - installed them since they came out - very reliable!
