Honeywell has updated the Vista 128 and 250 FBP series panels (this includes the First Alert sisters to these).

They have some differences and were open to discussions.

I just installed a FA1600 something (like the 128FBP) and it's completely rebuilt - new can and backing plate etc.

Lots of UL differences.

UL864 requirements.  Yeah, its quite the change & some of it not for the better in my opinion.  Gotta do what they require or it doesn't go in.  Not much choice in the matter.    Try disabling the bell supervision, I think was one of new requirements, & see what a headache that is going to be.

So I take it the new backing plate is to help protect from RF interference? Wouldn't the can do that (at least as well as the weird new plate?)  Huh?

Not sure about the backing plate.  I will have to dig that up Monday if I can remember it.  I'm not much ahead of the curve than you are on these panels.  Its one of these things that you know is coming, but not sure of the questions that will come in until it hits the market & it hasn't been out that long.   I agree with the word count.  My biggest beef from the start on all the panels is downloading.  Place a freakin' usb port on it or something!  Enough with the interface devices.

Yea, we ordered a regular one and was told there are none available and we waited for the new one - it's nice and looks more robust - also looks like some software changes too.

I'll tell you what - when it comes to downloading - you cant beat the Vista-21IP - it's hard to believe the download is complete when using IP/GSM to do it - man is it fast.

Makes me want to change out everybody's panel  Grin Grin

Heres the new Vista-128FBP (this is actually the First Alert version) installed.

A couple 4208U's and a 4204 relay card (for HVAC shut down by Ansul systems)

Nice wiring job Jim.   Much better than the bird's nests I usually do. Shocked
I forgot that darn backplating question from last week.  Memory is getting bad.
