I have a Concord Express system that I've been (successfully) adding new capabilities to.  The existing fire zone is a two-wire setup with only three ESL smoke/heat detectors. I'd like to add a couple more detectors, but I don't want to run wires - so I'd like to set up a 2nd fire zone, but wireless.  Is there any reason this can't be done?  There are still plenty of open wireless zones available.

Thanks,

Dave

No reason at all you can't do this.  You mentioned adding a "2nd" fire zone, so just be aware that each wireless device requires its own zone. As long as you have plenty of extra zones available, that's no problem.

Also, keep in mind, if you are intending on tandem ring for the fire alarm, the wireless detectors can't support such.

Electronics usually don't work as intended once the magic smoke is released from them

I'd like to be called sir at least once without being followed with "you're making a scene"
