Moose Alarm System set off during power outage

Hi- I am brand new to this forum, but it looks like the perfect place to present a problem we had last night.
We bought our house in 2008 and it has a Moose Alarm System in place. Because I am currently at work, I don't have the specific model number- but- I can get all the specs later today! It has the zone indicators on top with the "Trouble" light...below that the Green "ready" type light and the red "Armed" type light...below that the keypad, and then the three "Fire/Police/Medical" buttons at the bottom.
I thought there might be something that could be gleaned at a high level so I thought I would post first with the symptoms...
We have two keypads, one downstairs, one upstairs. We also have two "built in" detectors located near each keypad.
Last night around 4 AM we got a power outage at the house. The *keypad* alarm went off. The detectors did not siren- just each keypad.
Getting up to look at the keypad, the "zone" lights were cycling on off in a "christmas tree" type pattern...kind of looked like the front of "Kit" from Knight Rider. I entered the code- no response. I found the manual- hit the "*" which is apparantly "Reset" - silenced alarm for ~20 seconds- then alarm started again with same light pattern. After about 20 minutes of fiddling with both keypads, the "light pattern" went out, the "Trouble" light illuminated, and the alarm silenced.
Is that enough data to start characterizing a problem? I know- I likely need the model number....but maybe this is a characteristic that all Moose alarms display.
Thanks!
Andy

Sounds like a few things to me..
1. Power Surge
2. Lightning Strike
3. Bad Back-Up Battery
