A solid red light normally means that it is tripped and needs to be reset. Most alarm smokes need to be reset with a certain procedure. If you can give us the make/model of your panel then we can inform you how to do it.

Do you know of any reason why your smoke may have went into alarm?

This is a ademco4110/4110xm system. there is no condition-fire,etc.that would cause this.

The way you say, "It will go into alarm 2 times then it will quit" makes me wonder if you mean it will beep or chirp twice, rather than going into alarm.

When it "goes into alarm" does the siren sound and the fire zone dispaly on your keypad? Do you have to disarm it at the keypad and then reset it? Or does it stop on its own, with nothing showing on the keypad?
