Hello all!! I 'm fairly a newbie with alarm systems and I moved into a home a couple of years ago with a DSC (A*T alarm) PC1555/1555MX with a PC5508Z LED Keypad.  When we originally moved in, we weren't provided the codes and didn't think it would be a big deal and of course, now I have no idea of how to contact them to get the codes.  I tried a standard master code of 1234 with no luck (it doesn't arm the system) and gives one loooong beep.  I would like to know if it's possible to set a new master code, or if necessary how to default this system.

Sooooo, I've been reading through the forums (which by the way ROCK!! I thought I'd be totally lost but they are VERY user-friendly THANKS!!) ... and  found a couple of topics that were helpful and even links to the user's manuals for this alarm system.

BTW this has 4 zones written on the pad :
1) Door 1
2) Door 2
3) Door 3
4) Windows

The alarm shows "Ready" light on, and has a functioning phone line connected.

So far, I followed a couple of suggestions and one seems promising:
I keyed *8 5555 and there was a series of short beeps which by the post said was a good sign... unfortunately that was the last post in that topic so that's where I am at Smiley

I truly appreciate any help you can give me ...

Thanks!!

Edit:

wow... I have to give thanks to all!!

- Especially Ken  LOL I got most of my help from your replies to previous posts

I have reprogrammed the master code and even added a couple of new user access codes.. I got rid of the annoying chime, and am about to run a system test...

There are a couple of other issues: the trouble light is on indicating #1 & #8 (battery and set time) -- my next step will be to reset the time/date with help from  your excellent forums  Grin and then tomorrow I'll have to go pick me up a new battery and replace it... (I'm so hyped up -- truly can't believe I went through it all by myself LOL) that I wish I could get one now but it's already past midnight ha ha..

anyhow thanks bunches!!!!

Angie,

It's great to read a success story like this. Most homeowners would not have the confidence or motivation to even attempt what you did. That you have succeeded just by reading information here on the forum is a great accomplishment. Good job!
