Hello! New to the forum. Glad you're here! I am new to alarm systems, know only how to use the basic features  Roll Eyes. My basic Honeywell/Ademco Vista 10P main keypad is showing that the battery is low. I got the keypad cover off, but I can't even tell which part is the battery. There's a coin-sized round part that looks like I can pry it open... Is that the battery? Or is the battery the tiny, round, not-as-flat little silver cylinder? What kind of battery does it take, and does anyone have a suggestion on where to get it? What steps do I need to take to change the battery myself?

Thanks a million!  Smiley

Welcome to the forum.

Take a look at the article entitled Home Security System Component Layout that is located about halfway down the site's Home Page.  It will assist you with locating the battery.

If additional information is required, see the following Home Security Alarm General FAQ:

How do I locate and change my home security system's standby battery?

Post back if you have any questions.

L4444, your keypad is hardwired to the panel which powers the keypad. Unless it is a wireless keypad, it does not have a battery inside of it.
Locate the main alarm panel within your house, open it and you will
find a big battery in there. More than likely, that is the batttery that
is telling you that it is low.
