I know it’s hard to believe we do not charge for our services. But that is the beauty of this DIY forum. No money gets in the way. This is our foray into civil society for security system help. You could spend hours on the phone with one technical support representative for the manufacturer of your alarm system, searching piles of manuals and not get anywhere in terms of solving your specific problem. But all you have to do here is let the DIY forum community know the situation, and you have got dozens of technical support representatives researching your problem because it is fun to them, not because it is an obligation of their duties as an employee. Plus, you will have various routes to take, or then again, each poster may say the same thing and then you know that is what you have to do. Either way, the end result is a lot better than staying on hold on the phone, listening to dull music while the person on the other end wishes they had another job.

You Will Find Basic Information Related To The Technical Side Of Alarms In This Part Of The DIY Forum

This is where you will find the best general technical information for your security system. Did you just move into a house with an existing system and need help troubleshooting or just getting basic information about what its capabilities are? The previous owner should have left documentation, but, of course, this does not always happen. Maybe you need to change the codes or just want to reset the system back to the defaults settings.
